Advertise in France
Because French buyers don't search, compare or trust the way buyers in your home market do. A native French consultant writes ads that sound right, builds campaigns that fit the French market and saves you the costly mistakes most foreign advertisers make.
Many foreign companies launch in France by translating their existing campaigns. It shows: awkward ads, keywords nobody types, landing pages that don't reassure. Here is what a French perspective changes:
| What matters in France | What I do about it |
|---|---|
| The vocabulary | French people search with their own words, such as « devis gratuit » (free quote) or « près de chez moi » (near me). Ads translated from English give themselves away |
| Trust signals | Google reviews, legal notices, a French phone number, prices including VAT, guarantees: without them, French buyers hesitate |
| The calendar | August slows down, May is full of long weekends, September is a fresh start, and sales periods are set by law |
| Consent | A GDPR-compliant cookie banner and Google Consent Mode, otherwise conversion tracking is distorted |
| The real cost | Google adds a fee to ads served in France to cover the French digital services tax: it must be built into the budget |
| The regions | Paris is not targeted like the rest of France, and each major city has its own competition and cost per click |
I have worked with more than 100 businesses on the French market, most of them local businesses, across dozens of industries. We can work in English or in French, and I report to you in English.
Your launch in France
It starts with a free audit of the French demand for your offer, then a campaign built for French buyers, a landing page review and reliable conversion tracking. You keep full ownership of your Google Ads account at every stage.
If you target specific French cities or regions, the campaigns follow the local reality: Paris, for instance, is a market of its own, with higher costs per click and a very dense competition.
Case study: Bali
With two complementary campaigns: a « zone » campaign that targets tourists who are on the island, and a « geo » campaign that targets almost the whole world, but only on keywords that contain « Bali ». That is what we do for Adventure and Spirit, which gets leads for about €20 each on a €600 monthly budget.
| Adventure and Spirit | |
|---|---|
| The client | Adventure and Spirit, a canyoning company in Bali founded by a French entrepreneur who lives there |
| The audience | Tourists who are in Bali, and travellers worldwide who look for an activity in Bali before they leave |
| The method | Two campaigns: a « zone » campaign on the island and a « geo » campaign worldwide |
| The language | English only, the common language of travellers |
| The budget | €600 per month |
| The result | Leads for about €20 each, around thirty leads per month |
Travellers don't search the same way before they leave and once they have arrived. On the island, they simply type « canyoning » or « things to do »: the location setting guarantees they are in Bali. From Sydney, Paris or Seoul, they type « canyoning Bali »: the keyword guarantees they are interested in Bali, wherever they are. Each situation gets its own campaign, budget and bids.
| Zone campaign | Geo campaign | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it targets | People who are in Bali | Searchers in almost every country |
| Keywords | Generic: « canyoning », « waterfall tour », « things to do » | Always with the place: « canyoning Bali », « Bali canyoning tour » |
| Stage of the trip | On site, for the coming days | Before departure, while planning the stay |
| Why it works | The location guarantees the person is in Bali, even if they don't type « Bali » | The keyword guarantees an interest in Bali, wherever the person is |
The geo campaign only works if every keyword contains the place: without « Bali », it would reach canyoning fans all over the world who will never come. With it, it reaches travellers while they plan their trip and book activities in advance, long before competitors on the island see them arrive.
English is the shared language of travellers: a German, an Australian or a Korean visitor often searches « canyoning Bali » in English. One language covers most of the demand on both campaigns, without spreading the budget across ten languages.
Four kinds of clients
Four kinds of businesses with very different needs, and one method: start from the real demand in each market, its competitors and what makes its customers buy.

04
Finding customers where you live
You run a business in Bali, Thailand or Canada and need local or tourist customers. The campaigns speak your customers' language.
International clients
In France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and across Europe, as well as the United States, Canada, Thailand and Indonesia, for French and foreign businesses alike. Each market gets its own campaign, language and tracking.
| Country | Businesses | What the campaigns do |
|---|---|---|
| Belgium | Lokarea, self-storage · ARK, structural engineering firm | Campaigns on the Belgian market |
| Canada | Supermedic, prevention training | Campaigns on the Canadian market |
| Thailand | Kupu Kupu Phangan, hotel on Koh Phangan | International tourist clientele |
| Indonesia (Bali) | Adventure and Spirit, canyoning | Tourists on the island and travellers worldwide, in English, leads at about €20 |
| United States and Europe | Fine-dining restaurants in Paris | Campaigns in English, Spanish, German and Italian |
| Europe and United States | French e-commerce stores | Campaigns launched in France, then rolled out country by country |
I work with online stores that originally advertised only in France, and whose campaigns we then rolled out to other countries. The order is almost always the same: start with the closest markets, those that need the least adaptation, then move further as the first ones become profitable.
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| 1. France | The starting market, where the campaign proves itself and becomes profitable |
| 2. French-speaking countries | Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg: same language, ads simply adapted to local vocabulary and prices |
| 3. Germany | The first large foreign market, with German ads, keywords and product feed |
| 4. Italy and Spain | Nearby countries, opened once Germany is profitable |
| 5. The United Kingdom and the rest of Europe | Expansion in English, then into other European markets |
| 6. The United States | A huge market, approached with an adapted feed, prices and shipping |
Worldwide
In most countries, yes: Google is the leading search engine. A few markets are exceptions, and it is worth knowing before you invest.
| Country | Leading search engine | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| China | Baidu | Google is not accessible: Google Ads does not reach users in mainland China |
| Russia | Yandex | Google is not the leading search engine |
| South Korea | Naver and Google | Naver is still widely used: Google alone covers only part of the demand |
| Rest of the world | Google dominates: Europe, the Americas, Southeast Asia, Africa, Oceania |
In some markets, Microsoft Ads, Bing's advertising platform, is a useful complement, especially for business audiences. During the audit, I check how much of the demand Google actually covers in each target market.
Everything happens online: I work in your Google Ads account, which you always own, and we talk by video call, phone or email, in English or French. Campaigns are scheduled in your market's local time, and you receive a short monthly report, country by country.
Your consultant

I have worked with more than 100 businesses, in France and abroad.
Rather than an international agency, you work directly with me: one senior point of contact, no account managers or juniors in between, and no long-term commitment. My Google certifications can be checked online.
